Digital drawing / constructed photography
I’m making contemporary drawings which are realised as C type photographic prints, often on metallic paper. Work can be supplied mounted and ready to install, or sent unframed if you prefer. I tend to bond the work behind Plexiglass, which adds a rich, gloss finish that enhances the drawings really beautifully, making them more luminous, and brings them to life when light plays across the surface.
Works on Paper
More recently I’ve been experimenting with pigment prints, on beautiful 100% cotton fine art papers, sourced from Somerset or Hahnemühle, both are great. These editions are visually very similar to screen prints. The inks have the ability to create large areas of bold, dense colour, with an amazingly wide spectrum, as the 10 colour ink set includes orange, green and violet pigments.
Experimental Print Club
In 2016 I started making more experimental editions for my print club. It’s a platform designed to deliver beautiful new works for the home, sent out to collectors in the post, four times a year. The works are produced exclusively for club members and are only available on the day they’re editioned.
Digital Screen Art
Finally, for the time being at least, I’ve been experimenting with digital screen art. Kinetic works for flat panel televisions, computer monitors, tablets, laptops and projectors. A medium that allows for the addition of time, back illumination and movement. It’s an exciting prospect…
