Chuck Elliott / 12
Sometime towards the end of 2019, I started working on a new book, broadly designed to catalogue some of my favourite images from the past 12 years. Beautifully printed by Ripe Digital in Corsham, the book features 100 large format pages, with accompanying short texts that I hope illuminate the project succinctly, and with a little humour.

EDIT 2016
Published by Transistor, Edit 2016 is designed to offer a broad overview of selected works from the past decade, alongside workshop images, colour proofs and associated ephemera.
Lucid / RMX catalogue
Published in March 2015 to coincide with my second solo show at Catto Gallery, Lucid / RMX is a 36 page catalogue, with a foreword by Tim Green. Lucid / RMX takes the idea of the remix from the world of music, especially contemporary electronic music, into the artist’s studio. As such many of the works featured in the exhibition riff on the idea of being visually remixed, or are in some way re-engineered. I liked the idea of working with the concept of remixing works for the show, and experimenting with a broad selection of the pieces made for a more cohesive exhibition in many ways.
Generator / show catalogue
Generator was my first solo show at Catto Gallery, following on from a two man show there with Derek Balmer, PPRWA in September 2010. The 36 page catalogue was published in November 2012 to coincide with the opening, and features images of all the latest drawings made for the exhibition, alongside a foreword by Tim Green.
Synaesthetic at the Beaux Arts
Synaesthetic was my first solo show at the Beaux Arts Gallery, Bath. The show catalogue consists of a number of printed cards housed in a box featuring Torsion / primer, and an introductory text by Aidan Quinn.
Synaesthetic / published by Transistor
Published in September 2011, Synaesthetic is a 110 page large format hardback book, produced by Transistor. It features interviews with Matthew Collings, Lynette Quinlan and Louise Copping, alongside in situ photography, artwork and associated ephemera from the first six years of the project. It’s available to view and download online. A short run digital print version can also be purchased from Blurb.com.
SuperCollider / Workbook
SuperCollider is a workbook published in July 2011, featuring new drawings, including Collider / gilded mandala, from a series of variations that explore the Fibonacci number sequence and its relationship to the natural world. The catalogue includes a brief text about the project on the last page, alongside working colour variants and other images associated with the project.
Coda at Close / catalogue
Coda at Close was published to mark the opening of my solo exhibition at Close House in March 2011. Curated by Freeny Yianni, ex Lisson Gallery, the exhibition featured around thirty works installed throughout the main reception rooms at Freeny’s stunning C18th home in Somerset. The 68 page catalogue features an interview with Matthew Collings and in situ photography by Stephen White. The catalogue was designed and beautifully produced by Herman Lelie.
Fluid Dynamic
Fluid Dynamic is a PDF workbook, pulling together images of projects from 2005 to 2009, associated artwork and in situ images.
Bristol Contemporary Open 2008 / Catalogue
Bristol Contemporary Open 2008 was a juried show held at Paintworks here in Bristol, featuring work by 24 mid career artists including Anna Gillespie, Barry Cawston, Beth Carter and Cathy Lewis. The catalogue features work by all 24 of the selected artists, alongside an introductory text and notes about the exhibition and jury.
Coda on Cork St / Flyer
Coda on Cork Street was a 2008 exhibition featuring sculptures by Anna Gillespie alongside my own work, at the Gallery on Cork Street. It was a real thrill to exhibit with Anna, and we continue to work together occasionally.
