Rock singularity / EPC edition #25 / WIP
I’ve been busy completing the latest Experimental Print Club edition over the last few days and weeks. It’s all come together rather nicely I think, definitely in my own top 5 so far.
I’ll write about the piece at more length shortly, but in essence it's a set of images derived from a 3d data scan of a rock from our garden, repainted on a brilliant gold background, and underlaid with a matt base of a kind of soil like area, which is in itself a tricky bit of printmaking, as it overlays the natural deckled edge of the Somerset paper, making a rather lovely coloured line along the base of the print..
There’s a lot to be said about it, but the basic idea of finding something local and fairly ordinary, and turning it into something rather magical and psychedelic appeals to me greatly at this time of year, as we approach the Summer solstice.
