Radial ONE / a commission for a new house in Wiltshire

Hello,

It’s a real pleasure to be working here in the studio as the Spring arrives. I think today may well be the best day of the year so far, with the bright, low sunlight illuminating the myriad shades of green that seem to be racing into growth here. It makes for some pure joy at a time when the news seems to be about as bad as at anytime I can recall. I'm hoping for some better days to come!

I’ve been working on a new commission for a contemporary home in Wiltshire recently, organised by the ever fabulous Jess Lloyd Smith at Modern Art Buyer in Bath.

She recommended the work to her clients who commissioned this laser cut edition at 100cm diameter, to hang in their beautifully designed open plan dining space, located centrally above the table.

In many ways, I see the works as complementary to the natural world all around us. Working with colour, line, volume and form, I hope the work may bring some light and energy to a room. Perhaps it doesn’t need to be too much more complicated than that. Of course, there’s a lot of maths, design and experimentation encapsulated in the way the works are drawn and put together too, so if you’d like to know more about Radial / ONE I have a page on my site here that I hope offers a better insight into the ideas involved in the making of the work.

Coming up next. I’m expecting to have some new images of my latest Print Club editions ready to show soon, so hopefully, my next newsletter will feature some of that work.

In the meantime, many thanks for your interest, it’s appreciated...

With best regards,

Chuck Elliott
