Stellify 4 / EPC edition #20 dispatched

Hope this finds you well. I feel as though the holiday season is creeping up on me here, and I have to say I’m looking forward to it! It’ll be nice to get a few days off around the house with my kids, and hopefully much of my extended family too, assuming Covid doesn’t completely scupper that again this year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed…

I wanted to send you an update on the double Xmas edition that I’ve been working on recently. It’s been a little delayed by some group shows running into Christmas, and as ever nothing is quite as simple as you might initially think it would be. But it’s all coming together beautifully now, so I’m hoping to have work in the post early next week, all being well.

I completed the 112cm wide Stellify 4 prints last week and took them for cold lamination, a process that will give the final pieces a beautiful flat, matt finish, which should keep them looking good in situ for quite a while.

The longer ones are then creased 5 times, the shorter 3 times, to make a kind of accordion fold, which allows them to be displayed freestanding on any surface where you have a couple of feet to spare. Or of course, you could pin the edition flat to the wall, equally well.

I’m attaching a photo of the first folded test piece here, and I’m expecting to take delivery of the remainder on Monday sometime. So delivery should be a few days after that.

Edition #19, Stellify 4 / QUAD is a smaller experimental print on a new ultra metallic paper I’ve just discovered. In fact, I think it may have been around in specialist suppliers for a couple of years now, but it’s new to me!

It has the most incredible stippled metallic surface, which I think you can make out in my studio photo. In real life it’s on a par with a Quality Street wrapper, or similar. I’m already looking forward to trying out some larger drawings on it in 2022, should be good! The colour gamut is amazing, it seems to be able to hold some really zingy hues. I hope you’ll like it when you see it!

I’ll let you know when the works are dispatched, so you can keep an eye on your mailbox, and in due course, I’ll send a longer email with some more in situ and completed work images too, but for the time being, I really just wanted to let you know where I'm upto!

More to follow soon - thanks as ever,

With best regards,

Chuck Elliott

About the Print Club

If you’d like to receive four exclusive new editions in the post each year, alongside personal news and views from the studio, and invitations to shows and fairs, please do consider becoming a member of my Experimental Print Club. You can join or leave the club at any time, with absolutely no obligation to stay any longer than you want to.

Four new works are sent out, somewhat sporadically, throughout the year, often in line with the changing seasons. Each piece is unique, exclusive, and only available on the day it’s editioned, the size of the edition being determined by the number of members on the day.

I hope the club presents a more personal and intriguing way to connect with the studio, by creating a platform for collecting engaging new works for your home. The club is hosted online here, and I send out fairly regular blog posts and emails about the work too. I’d like to think that it’s an interesting proposition!

Membership is priced at £30 per month inc. UK delivery, or £35 for an international address.
