I’m very honoured to be included in the Temwa Christmas Auction again this year. It’s a really lovely opportunity to make a small difference for a fantastic cause.
Temwa works with people in hard to reach rural areas of northern Malawi, bringing communities together to end poverty and build climate resilience. Led by local people to transform their own futures.
I’ve donated this original studio proof of my latest work, Helios delineated / night and day. I don’t usually sell the original 1:1 studio proof of a new drawing, so it’s a little bit of a rarity.
I’ve spent around six weeks this autumn drawing the piece in pencil, and then scanning and digitally recolouring the resulting multi layered image. Its been a joy to work on, much more handmade than a lot of my pieces, but none the worse for that. This is the first state proof, I’m intent on continuing to overlay and remix the work, in ways that I hope will move the work forward in some interesting ways.
